Prunus spinosa L. leaf extracts: polyphenol profile and bioactivities

نویسندگان

چکیده

Prunus spinosa leaf extracts in solvents of different polarity (water, ethanol and acetone), their phenol, flavonoid anthocyanin contents biological properties were the object this study. The richest phenols as well flavonoids was acetone extract with 181.19 mg GAE 80.10 QE per gram dry extract, respectively. Moreover, quantity anthocyanins obtained by HPLC analysis also highest sample. Examined samples possessed antioxidant evaluated through four vitro assays (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP TRC). proved to be best among tested samples, which could ascribed polyphenols, especially anthocyanins. aqueous exhibited antibacterial effects, being particularly active against B. cereus E. cloacae. T. viride, P. funiculosum, ochrochloron, verrucosum var. cyclopium most susceptible fungal microorganisms examined. Both, expressed inhibitory activity towards enzymes linked diabetes mellitus type II. Additionally, showed significantly higher potential inhibiting α-glucosidase than drug used positive control. Furthermore, sample revealed antitumor effects on following malignant cell lines: HeLa, K562 MDA-MB-453. results presented herein suggest that leaves should considered a natural source bioactive compounds application phytopharmacy food industry.

Physico-chemical characteristics of wild plum fruits (Prunus spinosa L.)

The genotypic variation on physico-chemical characteristics of wild grown plums (Prunus spinosa L.) was investigated. The total phenolic contents were in a range of 117 to 407 mg GAE/100 g FW. The vitamin C was highest in yellow colored fruits (12.10 mg/100 ml). The total soluble solid content varied between 9.40% (yellow colored) and 12.90% (dark purple colored) fruits.  Antioxidant activity o...

Polyphenolic Profile, Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Eastern Teaberry (Gaultheria procumbens L.) Leaf Extracts.

Dry leaf extracts of eastern teaberry (Gaultheria procumbens L.) were evaluated as a source of bioactive phytocompounds through systematic activity testing and phytochemical profiling. The antioxidant efficiency was tested using five complementary in vitro models (DPPH; FRAP; linoleic acid (LA) peroxidation assay; O2•- and H2O2 scavenging tests) in parallel with standard antioxidants. The 75% m...
